"I plan to donate to the organizations who continue to fight against hate and prejudice in this country. I've seen a good deal of change and promise in the past ten years, but our work is far from done. LOVE IS LOVE is my What Matters, 10 years later; full of hope, faith, and the promise of change"- Randi Driscoll

Driscoll says the song was inspired by the ongoing and courageous work of the Matthew Shepard Foundation as well as the PROP 8 debate in CA, where she resides.

Randi Driscoll has worked closely with the Matthew Shepard Foundation, started by Judy and Dennis Shepard after the murder of their son in Wyoming, in 1998. Randi Driscoll tours the country year-round, performing her original music and delivering her program, Music that Matters. Hello Friends and fans...

***ON THE ROAD WITH DUNKIN DONUTS AND A SASSY GPS!***
Here's a little update from Randiland-

Fall began briskly with a trip back east to kick off our 10 concerts for 10,000 dollars in honor of the ten year observance of the Matthew Shepard Foundation.I was so honored to spend the opening evening performing with such a wonderful group of entertainers.
I was lucky to be surrounded by incredible talented artists all dedicated to a wonderful cause. Thanks to everyone that came out to the Metropolitan Room in NYC- There are new pictures up in the photo section~~~Metropolitan Room, October 8th!

From NYC Noah and I hit the road. The drive to Ithaca, all be it long, was beautiful. The leaves looked amazing-really glorious colors on the trees. Students from Ithaca had organized a wonderful candlelight vigil and benefit event for MSF.
We played outside to a well attended crowd and really enjoyed meting everyone!
A highlight of our trip definitely could have been the after dinner party games ------
which included this famous phrase from the Star Spangled Banner----
"Rocket red robot glares in ramparts fleeing----" anonymous
ok, well it was close...

From NY, I went on to perform in MN, at a staged reading of the Laramie Project.
WOW! The cast did a beautiful job on Moises Kaufman's piece, and I could not have been more moved.
It was a very emotional evening, honoring the ten year observance with the cast, Judy Shepard and friends. It was so nice to see so many people gathered in one place for a great cause. It was also wonderful to spend some time with Mark and TR, talking politics and getting just a little more fired up!

*** A NOTE FROM RD***

The 10 year anniversary and remembrance of the death of Matthew Shepard has made me do a good deal of thinking and reflecting. I've made some personal notes on my myspace blog, about why I'm saddened by things going on in CA right now-- I've had many thoughts about the past 10 years, specifically, how far we've come to end discrimination and how far we still have to go. For now, I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the work of the Matthew Shepard Foundation over the past 10 years and the strides they are making against hatred. If you would like to give a donation this holiday season, be sure to visit www.matthewshepard.org

For those of you that have been asking- I do have some sad personal news. Our dear, sweet, Baby Love passed away a few weeks ago.
If you know me or have seen my myspace page :) --- you know that baby was my beloved kitty, my companion and furry soul mate for eight wonderful years. Thanks to everyone for sending such kind words. I miss him terribly-and I know he is at peace.
That's all for now, Thanks for your continued support.
Keep checking back for updates- and don't forget to buy your tickets to the Jingle Ball!

Randi shares her message with college students across the nation, and young leaders of tomorrow.

Music That Matters

Singer and songwriter Randi Driscoll has been touring North America for several years entertaining large and small audiences with her blend of powerful music and words, inspiring praise for her musical talents and her dedication to social justice.

In "Music That Matters" you get an intimate session with a singer who has dedicated herself to her artistry and to the issues surrounding human dignity. Randi has opened for well-known artists with the same commitment to human issues, including Jason Mraz, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, and Jackson Browne. But one of her greatest accomplishments has been "What Matters," a song she wrote in memory of Matthew Shepard, the young gay University of Wyoming student who was murdered in a hate crime. The Matthew Shepard Foundation has adopted the song and Randi is a frequent guest of Judy Shepard at national media events.

"Randi is one break away from being a household name, and every college in America should book her while they can. Her poise, versatility and captivating stage presence, combined with her powerful voice and moving lyrics, make her one of the top musical acts I have ever seen showcase - ever."

David Coleman
Coleman Productions

In her campus program, Randi shares this song and others inspired by human events. Each original song is beautiful and inspires compassion and hope. Her goal is to use songwriting to create a positive and inspirational message.

Randi turns a concert into an educational program by mixing storytelling with her music. She has chosen to take her message to young adults across the nation in hopes of inspiring them to take a positive role in their communities. Randi is a popular choice of campus entertainment boards, for coffeehouse programs, or for any campus program mixing entertainment with social justice, diversity awareness programming and women's issues.
