Introducing Angel Songs - Various Artists

(Randi Driscoll, Larry Mitchell, Lisa Sanders, Tim Flannery, Zach, Charissa Nicole, Carrie Moeller, Dana LeeWood, Jason and deMarco, Jennifer Palmer&Phil Higgins. with Noah Heldman, Tracy Page, Mark Thomas, and the children from The Creative Planet School of the Arts~ )

Released 2013 - Dramatique Records
A charity cd, for Newtown, CT and Sandy Hook

The Newtown school shooting tragedy took place on Dec. 14th, 2012. The idea for Angel Songs came to me shortly after, at my annual holiday show, in Escondido, CA. (Dec. 16) I was blessed to share the stage that evening, with several talented artists, whose music has inspired me for years. Several audience members and fellow musicians commented on how the music performed that evening helped them "heal " from a tragedy that was still fresh on everyone's minds. It was then, that I became motivated to create a benefit cd. Sometimes, when it's difficult to know what to do…..we can only do what we know. I'm proud to say that this collection of artists are friends from all over the country, many of whom shared the stage with me that evening. These artists have generously donated their compositions for a wonderful cause. Angel Songs is a collection of tunes of varying genres and styles, but all with one common message- "HOPE". A big thanks to each musician for their contribution, Ryan Forbes for the artwork, and Larry Mitchell, for helping us put it all together.

My own contribution to the cd is the final track, "Angel Choir". Produced by myself and Noah Heldman, "Angel Choir" was written in December of last year and features the children from Creative Planet School of the Arts.

Featured on the cd are award-winning artists from all over the country, including, Grammy Award winner Larry Mitchell, and major league coach and musician, Tim Flannery. (SF GIANTS)

A webpage about the artists and music on Angel Songs, is currently being created. CD BABY has generously agreed to only take a VERY small percentage off each download to cover cc costs.

We hope you enjoy the cd, and will purchase it, as a digital download, on CDBABY for only $10.00. ( the price of two fancy coffees) This is not a political statement, but rather, a way to let the people of Newtown know, that we haven't forgotten. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/randidriscoll4

Again, for only $10, you will instantly download a full cd, of wonderful artists, and your purchase will directly benefit the charity below: http://www.newtownmemorialfund.org

Mission Statement: To create a sustainable fund to provide for the immediate and ongoing needs of those affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, to construct a physical memorial honoring the lives lost on December 14, 2012, and to establish academic scholarships in the victims’ names for future generations of Newtown students.

Happy New Year

~ NEWS From Randi

Randi wins Song of the Year Contest- Adult Contemporary Category!!!!

Randi's song, NO SONG, won top place in the Song of the Year songwriting Contest. To here the new track, click here: http://www.songoftheyear.com/winners_2012b.htm

NO SONG was written after the death of my 88 year old grandmother, "Nana". My whole life, I had been able to express my feelings; be it joy, sorrow, anger, love in song. This time however, the loss was so new, and so painful, I wasn't able to write. Every time I sat down to start a song, it felt like the pain was too deep and the words weren't doing my grieving justice. So I decided to write about just that; what it feels like when a writer can't write. When no words are good enough.

Randi Wins Award!

Campus Pride honored nine individuals with the distinguished volunteer service award, affectionately referred to as a “Campy.” This award recognizes special individuals and organizations that have demonstrated three or more years of outstanding service and contributions to Campus Pride. This summer national singer/songwriter Randi Driscoll along with eight longstanding Campus Pride volunteers were recognized for their ongoing support and devotion of camp: David Topping, Katie Barth, Brad Thomison, Nikita Burks,Courtney D'Allaird, Laura Graving, Michael Brown and Tom Feldman. The Campy recognizes the unique roles each individual has played as undergraduate college students, professional staff volunteers and as artists/entertainers. These individuals have demonstrated volunteer service beyond expectations building Campus Pride programs and services over the last three to four years.

"Campus Pride has witnessed tremendous success with our programs and services, growing very quickly over the years with limited monies. ‘Campys’ go to those individuals and organizations who believe in us and made our success a reality,” said Shane Windmeyer, executive director of Campus Pride. “We are fortunate, especially in these hard economic times, to have these volunteers commit their time and energy."
